Congress tours
Intense working moment for the vegetarian movement aside, The European Congress also offers moments of comfort and relax. The AVI has in fact organized a series of tours leading up to, during and following on from the congress for those who wish to participate - a taste of some of the more pleasurable aspects of vegetarian life in our country.

Before the congress begins participants will be able to dedicate some time relaxing immersed in art and nature.
The luxurious Hotel Le Conchiglie di Riccione is equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible offering, amongst other things, two swimming pools (one indoor and one open air) a fitness centre and sauna - run by the Corevedico Riminese Centre and directed by Enrico Violanti, expert dietician and member of the Committee of Medical Science of the AVI.
Together with his staff, Violanti will make sure your stay is even more pleasurable by providing soothing massages and hot steam baths.
Relax. The Corevedico Centre combines different aspects of human knowledge to provide essential, daily solutions for the mind and body. It is the result of a series of studies carried out on how one can intervene in a gentle yet active manner to restore the equilibrium between one's body and spirit.

Art. Discovering Gradara and San Marino
GRADARA. It rises up like a green island amidst the sweet, green hills of the Marche region like something out of a fable, steeped in history and legends like that of the tragic love story between Paolo and Francesca.
SAN MARINO. The State of San Marino, the most antique republic in the world with it's splendid historical center.
Nature. Hidden in the Earth's depths - the caves of FRASASSI. These spectacular cavities take approximately an hour's silent exploring where you will encounter many natural works of art - small underground lakes, stalactites, stalagmites and underground rooms with fantastic crystal and alabaster arabesques.

During the congress the 4th of October will be dedicated to the discovery of three splendid areas: GUBBIO and URBINO, FERRARA and RAVENNA, SAN LEO, VERUCCHIO, SANTARCAGELO DI ROMAGNA.
GUBBIO e URBINO. The antique city of Gubbio was of significant importance to the Romans and has it's own Roman amphitheatre which is still used today for events in the summertime. There are also many architectural works of art that date back to medieval times; towers, houses, Gothic churches and buildings. Urbino, a historical walled city of antique origin, home to many historically important people. Many are the monuments and buildings to visit.
FERRARA and RAVENNA. Ferrara was declared heritage to humanity by the UNESCO. Behind the city's walls are enclosed elements of culture, art, history and nature. It's splendid gardens contrast the city's elegant buildings.
Ravenna, city of art and culture, is famous for it's characteristic monuments and religious buildings decorated with mosaics which the UNESCO has also declared heritage to humanity. The great poet Dante is buried here.
SAN LEO, VERUCCHIO, SANTARCAGELO DI ROMAGNA.
From Verucchio you can admire a splendid panorama. The medieval village is entwined with buildings belonging to different traditions and times gone by.
In the same area San Leo can be found with it's famous fortress where Cagliostro was imprisoned. Santarcangelo di Romagna combines elements of curiosity and history.
