Massimo Filippi is vegan and founder member of "Oltre la Specie", an association which promotes a nonspeciesist and egualitarian ethics in favor of the recognition and defence of the rights of all animals (humans and nonhumans). He is editor of the Italian translations of the following books: "Eternal Treblinka. Our treatment of animals and the Holocaust" by Charles Patterson (Lantern Books, 2002 - Editori Riuniti, 2003), "In your face. From actor to animal activist" by Chris DeRose (Duncan Publishing, 1997 - Edizioni Cosmopolis, 2003) and (in collaboration with Alessandra Galbiati) "Empty Cages. Facing the challenge of animal rights" by Tom Regan (Rowman & Littlefield, 2004 - Edizioni Sonda, 2005). He authored several papers on animal rights viewed from a philosophical or a political perspective, which have been published, among the other web sites, by those of "Oltre la Specie (www.oltrelaspecie.org) and "Rinascita Animalista" (http://digilander.libero.it/rinascitaanimalista/).
