Silvia Amodio, graduated with a thesis carried out in Hawaii on dolphins and their linguistic ability. She has collaborated as a freelance journalist with the following weekly/ monthly publications (Famiglia Cristiana, Airone, D la Repubblica delle Donne, l'Espresso, Mondo Sommerso, New Age), her articles are always about animals and are always accompanied by her own photographs.
For a year she worked for Espresso magazine where she had her own column entitled ZOO and she also collaborated on the Encyclopedia of the Cat for publisher De Agostini.
Of late photography has become her main line of occupation.
In May 2000 she organized a meeting, with participants from all over the world, on dolphins and communication in collaboration with Cnr.
A number of different magazines have dedicated articles to her work: Photo, Stop, That's art, New Age, Repubblica, l'Espresso, Anna, Arte Mondadori, Specchio, Zoom...
along with a number of television shows and radio transmissions: Geo&Geo (rai 3), National Geographic Channel, Mediolanum, TG3 Toscana, Radio Svizzera, Rtl e Radio 2, Radio 3 scienza.
She recently finished making her own film with which to participate at scientific congresses and festivals.
She has also produced her own line of cards for publisher Smemoranda and a calendar for the LAV 2005.
Currently she is working on a project studying the South African tribe Xhosa.
Silvia Amodio will be present at the meeting on 2nd October "Vegetarianism and Animal Rights" where her film "Animalità" will be shown.
