Tina Fox
Tina Fox has been Chief Executive of the Vegetarian Society UK Ltd since May 1995. Before this Tina was employed in local government in a variety of management roles for 20 years.

Vegetarian since 1972, Tina became active as soon as she adopted the diet. She became involved in the Liverpool vegetarian group initially and set up her own group, Wirral Animal Rights, in 1980, when she moved home across the Mersey. Her role as local contact for the Vegetarian Society eventually led to a decision to stand for the Society's ruling council and Tina became a Trustee in 1993, resigning two years later to take the post of Chief Executive. As well as being active in the vegetarian movement, Tina has been and still is, involved in the wider green movement. Previously a member of the UK Green Party, Tina stood for both local council and parliament and convened the Green Party Animal Rights working group, writing and co-ordinating the policies on such issues as hunting, farming, circuses etc. Tina is currently a Patron of the local Wirral Environmental Network.
Tina has been on the International Vegetarian Union Council since 2000 and as well as carrying out the role of Membership Secretary she has been Chair since the Congress in Edinburgh in 2002 which she organised on behalf of the Vegetarian Society UK.

Tina lists amongst her interests: cats, antiques, gardening (organic, of course), reading, and travel. She is also a professional writer, or used to be when she had more time, particularly on vegetarian travel and animal myth and folklore.
